Political Violence And The Need To Protect Your Business

Political instability sometimes leads to political violence. We’ve seen it within the United States. The January 6, 2021 assault on the US Capitol Building is one of the most well-known examples (and it most certainly is a place of business). According to Reuters, last year, the United States saw political violence on a scale not seen since the 1970s. No political persuasion is immune from extremists who lay waste to civility. Most recently, we have the vandalism of Tesla vehicles and dealerships. Everyone is on edge; and people are destroying property and engaging in illegal conduct. Sadly, businesses frequently become the playing field for political rage.
That violences hurts all of us; and it hurts the economy.
While political violence may be low frequency, the damage to a business can be destructive not only to its property, but to its revenue. By establishing a captive insurer, a business can have its captive issue a policy for protection against political violence (a “PV” policy). PV policies typically protect against not only property damage, but the resulting business interruption losses following war, civil commotion and terrorism, which are usually exclusions from standard commercial property coverages.
During these volatile times, captive insurers become much-needed lifelines for business. Contact one of the executives at #AllianceCaptiveManagement to learn more.
